25 multiple choice questions (1.6 pts apiece)

25 short answer questions (1.6 pts apiece)

Each part of the 10-part Ultimate Question is worth 2 pts apiece*

= 100 points

*On the Ultimate Question, to receive credit for any given part of the question, you must have ALL PREVIOUS PARTS OF THE QUESTION ANSWERED CORRECTLY. This will be further explained in the exam itself.

2008 iTest Tournament of Champions & the 2007-08 iTest National Rankings

With just under an hour remaining until the start of the 2007 iTest, it's a good time to make a couple of announcements regarding the 2008 iTest Tournament of Champions, and the 2007-08 iTest National Rankings which will determine the invitees to this prestigious 64-person elimination event next spring.

Each student will be ranked based on his or her iTest Ranking Index. This Index is computed by taking your 2007 iTest score (out of 100) and adding your AMC 12 score (out of 150; we'll take the higher of the two if you take both A and B). The top 64 high school mathematics students in the nation, as ranked by this Index, will be invited to participate in the 2008 iTest Tournament of Champions.

The 2008 iTest Tournament of Champions is an NCAA Tournament-style individual elimination event that will take place next spring. The top 64 math students in the nation will compete head-to-head each week until one student remains - the 2008 iTest National Mathematics Champion.

The winner of last year's iTest Tournament of Champions was Arnav Tripathy, who will receive $2,000 in cash later this month as part of the 2007 iTest festivities throughout the month.

Good luck to all of our participants in the 2007 iTest!

The 2007 iTest is underway.

Please do not discuss specific test questions with anyone outside your team. Bear in mind that the iTest will ban you, your team members, and potentially your school if you are even suspected of cheating, online or offline.

Team Captains, you should be able to see the work of your teammates via the dashboard functionality of this website. Anyone emailing us regarding technical support can expect a minimum of 24 hours prior to response, so please only email us if it is critical. We may not respond to all emails.

Shortly after the submission deadline on Sunday, we will post the full solutions to the 2007 iTest (in PDF format) for download.

Thanks again, and good luck.

Formatting of the iTest exam within this website

Depending on your browser, parts of the iTest exam on this site may not render properly.

Please refer to the PDF of the 2007 iTest, available for download off this site, to clarify any confusion. We will work to eliminate any formatting inconsistencies on our end in the meantime, but this should not be an issue.

Thanks.

iTest Website Instruction Manual!

If you're having trouble figuring out how some things work on the site, here are some pointers:

Once logged in, the iTest questions are accessible through the iTest link in the top right of the webpage. This is where you are supposed to answer questions.

When Team Captains answer iTest questions and save them (by clicking the Save My Answers button on the top or bottom of the page), the answers will appear on the screen of team members along the right-hand side of the exam.

When Team Members answer iTest questions and save them, they will remain bubbled or filled in until changed, but will not appear on the right-hand side of the page. However, the Team Captain will be able to see all saved answers from all team members.

The downloadable PDF version is available to print and take with you to school or work on away from your computer.

Submitting Tiebreakers

If you are interested in submitting tiebreakers, they will need to be submitted via email (separately from the rest of your iTest exam, which will be submitted through this website).

Prior to the competition's submission deadline, Team Captains should email (in Word or PDF format ONLY) any tiebreaker answers to bradleymetrock@theitest.com. In both the tiebreaker document as well as in the accompanying email, include the Team Captain's name, Team Name, Team ID #, and names of all team members.
